Abstract

The CLAND Convergence institute brings together several research teams from Paris-Saclay University laboratories, to create an interdisciplinary program on the role of cultivated ecosystems during climate change. The three main research themes are reducing green-house gas effects and carbon storage in the soil, adaptation of ecosystems (loss of nitrogen, erosion, water and nutrient use, biodiversity) and integrating knowledge in socio-economic land-use models that are used for future projections and ecological and energy transition scenarios. A presentation of their activities and results in particular those concerning the modelling of breeding systems and methane emissions in ruminants will be given followed by a discussion with GABI teams on possible scientific collaborations.
